The Kentucky State Muzzle Loading Association, established in December 2007, began as an idea to join multiple clubs and enthusiasts as a voluntary organization of individuals interested in all aspects involving the history, safety, heritage & competitive use of muzzleloading firearms.

KSMLA Philosophy

Those involved in muzzleloaders have a variety of interests. Some are interested in various types of competitive shooting, some in hunting, and others in living history activities such as historical trekking, Rendezvous, & reenactments.
KSMLA brings these interests together in one place. The Kentucky State Muzzle Loading Association exists in order to promote these interests.

Our Members

The members of the KSMLA play an important role to the promotion and preservation of the muzzleloading history. Here at the KSMLA we strive to bring members together in a friendly format. We may talk about our families, interests, and what we do in our free time. We try to bring our passion of the muzzleloading sport to you through this web site. We will provide links to club web sites across the state so that we may support each other by participating in events and lending a hand when help is needed.
The KSMLA will maintain a network of clubs and members and send information in regards to Club Events, Rendezvous, State Events, National Events & work days.

Our Association

Some of the goals of the KSMLA include promoting muzzle loading across the state through the exchange of information regarding shoots and other black powder events, and the development of legislative materials affecting the future of the sport.

What Do You Have To Do?

All the KSMLA asks from you is the following:
  1. Promote the KSMLA as a means of communication between Muzzleloader enthusiasts across the state.
  2. Provide your current schedule of events so that the KSMLA may share it with our clubs & members.
  3. Open your clubs events so that other muzzleloading enthusiasts may participate.
  4. Add a link to your clubs website to promote the KSMLA.
  5. Designate a contact from your organization to communicate regularly with the KSMLA so that information is kept up to date and event schedules and event flyers are being distributed.
  6. Email or mail any and all event flyers to the KSMLA for immediate distribution. CLICK FOR ADDRESS
